Honor The Fallen Foundation Receives Three Quilt Panels

By
Dave Cruz
DAVIS - Honor The Fallen Foundation Received Three Memorial Quilt Panels
This week. Each panel represents a fallen soldier who died defending
our country in the war on terror. The families of these fallen heroes
have each created panels in memory of their loved one’s.
Each of these panels will be incorporated into the first “Honor The Fallen” memorial quilt panel display created to honor the service men and women, as well as government workers, who have died fighting in the war on terror.
Two of the panels were finished on the week marking the third anniversary of two service men who were killed on the same day March 4, 2002 during Operation Enduring Freedom. Matt Commons and Jason Cunningham died on the same rescue mission while trying to recover Navy SEAL, Neil Roberts. Both men are now buried next to each other in Arlington National Cemetery.
Ruth Stonesifer created the other panel in memory of her son, Kris, who was killed on Oct 19, 2001 during the first part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Ruth has also created a wonderful website in memory of her son (http://rstonesifer.com/kris/).
When the foundation receives enough memorial panels, they will begin touring the U.S. to honor the memory of the brave men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
All three panels represent the first panels to be received by the foundation and are available for public viewing at the Davis office. The address is 1949 5th St. Suite 110, Davis, CA 95616.
